The exact amount of child allowance is determined by the income and assets of both parents or legal guardians. The income threshold for the full amount of child benefit is currently €250,000 per year for families with one child and €300,000 per year for families with two or more children. Assets, such as savings or real estate, are also taken into account when calculating the amount of child benefit. Families with higher incomes or assets may receive a reduced amount or no child benefit at all.
